IDAHO YOUTH RANCH

In 1957 the dreams of  a Methodist Minister named Reverend James Crowe came to life.  He had dreamed of creating a working ranch where boys could learn and grow.  After five years of planning and hard work, the first boys came to The Ranch.

A dream that started 50 years is ago is alive and well now, more than ever.  This facility came from a dream and makes dreams come true every year for hundreds of troubled youth.

With a facility in Rupert, Idaho, the original site, as well as Pocatello, Nampa and Boise, the IYR is in a position to make a huge impact on the troubled youth of our society.  They house many children each year and the success rates at their facilities are amazing.

Not only do they offer services to the troubled youth and their families, but they also operate a very highly respected adoption agency.

Why did we pick the IYR as our charity?

Simply, they changed my life.  As a young man from a very troubled and abusive home, I found myself in and out of foster care and group facilities.  At the age of 15, I ended up at the doors of the Idaho Youth Ranch.  A ranch situated in the middle of no where and surrounded by crop fields as far as the eye could see.

It was here I became a man.  Not in the sense most of you might think, but in the sense that I was taught how to be true to myself.  How to stop blaming myself for all the horrible things that happened to me and to learn to love myself and others.

Why The IYR?  Because I owe them my life.  That is exactly what they gave back to me.

Please check out their website and give any way you can.  For our donations today will give these kids a good tomorrow.

And don't forget about our quarterly live online marble auctions to benefit the Idaho Youth Ranch.
